Pearl Stringing (also known as Knotting)

When I started out, beads were strung with 14KT gold-filled cable chain, the thinnest that was available. In the nineties, I switched to stringing beads with silk, not only because the beads would have a nicer drape but also because I could use the silk knot as another design element. Over the years I have collected a wide range of colors of stringing silk. For one client, I strung her black jet beads with crimson silk; for another, I’ve used black silk for her white pearls. Silk does eventually stretch and sometimes even breaks, however, a good knotting job will last decades.

Let me re-string your beads. I ask $1.00 per knot and will use a color of your choice. Do email me and we can discuss your jewelry needs.
